I was really impressed with this one and it exceeded my expectations. It's somewhat reminiscent of John Hart's novels with it's combination of high literature and mystery but you can add in a little history as well. I definitely want to find more of White's books and check them out now.

Part 2 concludes with Kallick and poor old Mitzi. Eager to see how it all unfolds.

I'm rather impressed by this debut piece. It certainly doesn't come across as a first effort but rather it has a certain subtle polish to it. It starts as an interesting story that is now graduating to a mystery as we flip back and forth through the characters history. I've found myself hooked enough to ignore the Olympic replays and will probably finish it tomorrow. Very happy I picked this up.

Ran across this the other day in Bison Books. Initially put it back before noticing that Laurie R. King gave it 5 stars on Goodreads. Bit the bullet and picked it up. Looks like an interesting historical mystery.
