I cannot emphasize enough that no one should subject themselves to this series.

I'm getting that but I'm 150 pages in and I can't leave a book unfinished.

Why are so many people recommending this book? Who decided to make it into a movie? How has the dystopian future become baby's first metaphor? These are the questions that will keep me up at night, long after I have finished Divergent.

At this point it's just dystopia for the sake of dystopia. Like, this relates in no way to any issue that exists in the world. It has no message. It's just an abusive love story wrapped up in the guise of scifi.

So yeah. I don't know why people are recommending it. It's so bad it's not even fun bad.
