I have to keep reminding myself that this tall brooding man in his frock coat is actually a blonde with spectacles. Brooding men are supposed to have dark hair to go with their mood. Seems like a strange choice to break with tradition like that

I swear, you end up learning so much reading historical romances. It stuck me as odd that Alexandra was drinking oolong tea of all things in 19th century northern England. However, though a quick Google search doesn't reveal many details, apparently Queen Victoria was a fan of the stuff, which means it was probably available to the peerage during her reign. Learn something new every day.

And it's really funny because McKinney seems to have a fetish for dark-haired heroes, so seeing her break the mold with an angelic looking blonde who wears glasses is quite entertaining.
