This book is as a major downer! The Russian history takes as back seat to a sweet convent girl getting raped by the bad guy. Even for a BR it's dark.

If this had been written in 2019, the villain would’ve been the hero & they’d have self-published it as one of those anti-hero erotica ebooks. 😶 But it’s def one of the darkest ones I’ve read from the old Pocket-Gallen imprint. I love it, lol.
I think this one is a little too dark for me. Could the author give Katie a tiny break?
I almost read this, but not in the mood for THAT dark. So now I'm sniffing around, looking for a good classic campy BR.
