Bottomless imagination. Hellish despair. Metaphysical mental turmoil. A foretaste of modern literary styles. Are these enough to keep slogging through a body of work that, the more one reads, the more incomprehensible it gets?
After the Songs of Innocence and of Experience, and perhaps the Marriage of Heaven and Hell, what more can works like "Milton" offer to the average reader of English poetry?
