"Intrigue in the Unassailable City" by Carl Walmsley is another cracker, and I want to read more tales set in this city.

Bryan Dyke's "Three Coins of Doom" starts with a bang and never lets up, all the while worldbuilding by dropping intriguing names and places that you hope to fully explore more. Hopefully I'll get to read more of the pirate Mau-Keefe and his adventures.

Another quality story from an unknown author, this time "Ranorax, Son of the Tiger" by Mark Taverna. Prophecy can turn out to be a bitch.

"Lord of the Wood" by Geoff Blackwell is a tale of a Finnish woodsman, who, after discovering his home burnt and family murdered, goes after the viking raiders for revenge. Short and sweet.

The third story, "The Vault of Geigar Varakas" by Kenneth R. Gower is good, but a bit of a step down.

Keith Taylor's "The Man With the Evil Eye" is an excellent story to continue with, and my first by said author. The best part of discovering "new" authors is knowing they have a considerate backlist of work to sink into.

Not a bad start at all with the first tale, Buzz Dixon's "Q'a the Librarian" being grimdark-like in tone. Also gave me a hearty chuckle at the end.
