I shrugged. I’d never felt like it. Never felt like anything, really. Girl, boy,
whatever. Nothing quite fit. That’s what Zoeller and his mouth-breathing minions
never got: I didn’t cut my hair because I wanted to look like a boy. I cut it because I
didn’t feel like a girl.
