Okay, I can't actually review this until I grab a copy of "Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother" from the library, because I'm pretty sure he misquotes and misrepresents her but I have to check.

I actually just finished, but I don't want to click that until I have time to work on the review.

It's on, baby. It is ON.

I'm almoster done than I look. This book actually only has 264 pages, and several of those are index and footnotes.

It's almost go time, is what I'm saying.

I was enjoying this book for a while. It is now annoying me so much that I'm huffing irritated breaths and smacking angry Post-Its on pretty much every page. Really can't wait to finish and post an extremely vexed review.

"I don't want to brag, but with only $55 in my pocket, I came to America when I was thirty-six years old."

Dude, that's the second time you've told me this story. The second time in a pretty short book. I'm thinking maybe you *do* want to brag.

I think this is the first author I've ever seen who writes his own applause lines. And then writes his own applause. And then modestly accepts that applause. o_O

Argh. Yet another nonfiction book with a promising premise and an author who can't get out of his own way. Why does this keep happening to me?
