Hmmm. It's been over two decades since I flew in a plane -- long before smartphones. But, don't all devices have to be on airplane mode for the duration of the flight? And do pilots really check personal email in the cockpit? This book was written by a flight attendant, so I assume she knows what she's talking about, but this already has me raising eyebrows.
