The prologue and first chapter were highly dramatic, with a flowery and extravagant prose almost making my eyes roll with annoyance.
Thankfully the writing settled down soon and now I'm thoroughly enjoying this book.

I did so 2 minutes ago and it makes me a bit sad, because this book is SO GOOD! 😍 I wish it had a 1000 more pages...
