Incest! Yikes! I saw that one coming!

Tartt's writing feels like absorbing a painting in its finer details.

The funeral happened, and it was dark and gothic and perfect! Although the plot seems not to move at all. Only small plot details are dropped here and there. I knew Camilla is more than she lets on!

I like how Francis, Charles and Camilla are more prominent in the story now after the murder. Also, these people disgust me!

I cannot stop reading. Although for my taste the story drags a bit, there were too many details that seemed irrelevant. The police investigation was a bit boring, but I am sure necessary for whatever follows.

All the characters are awful, evil human beings, I haven't read a book where all the main characters are so abhorrent. My theory is that Camilla is more than she lets own. The secret mastermind.

The murder finally happened! This novel is really haunting and gets under your skin more than I would care to admit.

My only qualm with the novel is that I don't really buy into Richard being a straight white guy, I think it is very obvious that a female writer has written him.

This is so good! You know a murder is about to happen, but it still feels like sitting on the edge of your seat!

All the characters are just awful human beings. Pretentious, posh, condescending classics students...

A murder is to happen. But the winter chapter left me confused... Great novel!
