I am really enjoying the book so far. Although some what slow paced, Bryson seems to excite me at every corner of the book. I have just finished chapter 6, in which Bryson and Katz get stuck in a snow storm. They reach a path on the side of a mountain, to the left the mountain and the right, a sharp fall to frozen rivers and trees. This scene reminds me of one from lord of the rings. That is why I love it so much.

After reading more and more of this book as the days go on, I can honestly say it has made a turn for the "worse". I am really not enjoying the book as much as I was in the beginning. In the beginning of the story, it was made to seem like there was going to be a great adventure story but I have only realized that it's very dry and not exciting...at all. Much of the story is boring to me. It's just not my cup of tea.

This story continues to excite me at every chapter. Although at times (like I have recently stated) the story can be boring, if you read through it, it's an amazingly told story. I've just read chapter 11,which tells of Bryson and how he runs out of bug spray. He looks at every store and none of them have any. He makes a dangerous trek to kmart only to find out they don't have any either. Really exciting stuff...

So far, I am really enjoying the book. There's a lot of writing which creates a boring taste to the book but I can tell, so far, that the story will be great. The main character and author of the book Bill Bryson, is set to take a hike on the Appalachian trail. He begins to gather information on the trail, only to discover its true dangers. He contacts olds friends and only one friend wants to go. They are both over
