I'm not sure if the usage of "transv***ite" was just the term cis-hets (and, to their credit, some trans people) used during the W. Bush admin.? In any case, I believe Gabriel is finding some of his own humanity in this woman; I suppose she's written to be as ugly as everyone else. She's not misgendered, and Gabriel's snide comments about her afterwards go unappreciated; are my standards for cis-hets just too low?
