Frequent earthquakes have levelled most buildings such that the greater portion of society is living in tents ... but a glass house still stands.
The food supply chain has collapsed to the point that basic food is scarce and the earthquakes prevent recovery ... but there’s a flourishing garden.
I had to check when this was written (1992). So many plot holes that I thought it must be self-published.
