Doesn't it make you wish someone would a dark, edgy modern day remake of the Oz? That would be so fricken cool. ;-)

No I haven't. But maybe I should. ;-)

Oh, I think so! It's definitely dark and edgy and very, very weird. For me it was life-changing, though tons of people hate it. I laid out who would and wouldn't be likely to enjoy it in my review, which is here.

The musical version isn't nearly as dark as the book, although it's still much darker than the Wizard of Oz movie. It's also the version that comes closest to portraying Dorothy as a killer, though it's a bit hard to tell because she never speaks in it.
