Up until our protagonist arrives at Big Sister's burial venue, he feels as though something heavy is following him, burdening him. As the protagonist watches his family prepare for the burial, the pages are filled with aboriginal culture and language.

After reading up to the point where our protagonist is on his way to his older sister's burial, we find our protagonist on a road leading into a dark mountain top illuminated by the moonlight and surrounded by trees. Our main protagonist is worried about travelling through the area; he senses the quinkins' presence but refuses to acknowledge them. Leaving him with deep anxiety, in fear of the spirits' gaze.
