Increase was not a perfect guy. Some may disagree on his view that infant baptism is good (I would be one of them). But he's an interesting guy, for sure.

"Those few in the world who know anything of me will testify of me that my continued practice is Plainness in delivering the Truths of God" (Increase Mather, p. 138)

I found myself strongly relating to John Farnum as I, too, have had doctrinal issues with my church and found myself being turned into some kinda villain... ouch. p. 70!
