I’ve gotten in the habit of reading out loud whatever I’m reading to my kid so I can hang out with them while still reading. Neil Gaiman is good because there are frequently kids & magical realism but also there’s some real gnarly bits that are maybe too advanced for an almost-4-year-old. What I’m saying is oh man I’m so glad I read ahead bc skipping over the foot-worm bit on the fly would have been rough
