Amazing read. This is my second time reading this novel. Hell, it might be my third. It’s a Depression Era noir. Guy from Oklahoma chases his runaway wife who wants to be in the movies out to Los Angeles. She took their little boy with her, see? He wants his kid back.
Page 60 and he’s already running afoul of fortune and the law.
Masterful writing.
