Yet another meh book for me. Would have liked to see explorations of racialization beyond the typical examples of European and US imperialism and colonialism.
While studying settler colonialism and slavery (along with its afterlife) are important within the context of racial capitalism, it's what 99% of the scholarship on racial capitalism focuses on. Wanted something more generative and innovative.

The intro explains racial capitalism, while the first chapter specifically looks at the example of settler colonialism through the lens of foreclosure and the second chapter attempts to view racial capitalism as a gendered process.
Okay-ish so far. Kind of wish the literature on racial capitalism wouldn't be so focused on the past. Ends up feeling redundant after a while.
