The book is worth reading if you care to explore the justifications (read: cognitive dissonance) people have for upholding the hegemonic ideology of neoliberal capitalism, consumer culture, shallow hedonistic nihilism and an unironic appeal to "othering" as a way of explaining a late, rival economic order as its political bureaucracy was in decay.
