I just finished The Slow March of Light. The true story of American LDS serviceman Bob Inama, stationed in West Germany in 1959. The book details his 6 months in an East German prison as an American spy, and his relationship with the young German woman he met in Frankfurt, Louisa Voigt.
The book was simply written and thoroughly engaging without resorting to any amount of sensationalism.
