Somewhat plodding narrative, overly detailed description of early catholic church figures mostly lost 2 history & their ridiculous squabbles, power struggles & attempts to control. It looks as if Constantine unwittingly unleashed christianity upon the wider world when he initially seemingly meant it as an act of political expediency in his own attempt to consolidate power out of fear & superstition.
