Shona Edwards Pls let me know if my non science brain might be able to handle this. Loving sci fi but struggling with the sci part is a curse

I'd say it's a bit of work but it's definitely manageable. The sciencey stuff is so far just like, one paragraph at the start of a passage explaining the mechanics of the spaceship to set the scene and then the rest is plot so I've been getting by pretty handily by reading those paragraphs slowly and googling a couple words (combined with skipping a couple of them once i realised that they're almost always self-contained dorky little spiels that aren't part of the plot)
It's not too much work, but I definitely think i benefitted from easing my way into sci-fi by reading Ursula Le Guin. She's so good at communicating complicated science stuff in a really lyrical and easy to understand way, and a great great writer. But yeah, KSR is a biiiit more dorky than her in nitty gritty details of sciencey stuff but I reckon it's doable for sure.

Shona Edwards I was just saying yesterday I need to get into Ursula le Guin but I've never know where to start! I think she'll be my new procrastination go to - if I'm going to put off doing thesis work I might as well make it enjoyable
