Starting Chapter 27 - the previous chapter was a break from the rest of the book. I know that many books often alternate between characters these days, but to wait until chapter 26 to add a different perspective? While it gives information, it's disengaging because it took so long. Why not do it earlier, with other characters that are connected? At this point, I expected the story to be solely from Lola Wicks' POV.

Starting Chapter 24 - I really like the overall story the author is getting at, however I've been spoiled by a lot of the more fast-paced stories I've read. At times I feel the story is bogged down with too much imagery.

Starting Chapter 11 - this story is cooking now, even if it does feel slogged down by too much detail/descriptions (I don't usually say this, but sometimes, I find myself getting bored by the extensive way the author describes something).

Chapter 6 - in truth, this is where the story really starts. I think the author should have started here and sprinkled in some (not all) of the important pieces from the first 5 chapters as the story went along. Honestly, I was beginning to get bored. There's just too much "pre-story" or background building up to where the story actually starts.
