‘They were in the mouth of the gap. It was undulating, and rafts of red light drifted across it like icebergs, but it was wide enough, and the wind they had ridden was pouring through it into the North.’

Three undulatings in 40 pages! This author needs a snack, quickly, his blood sugar is plummeting.

‘Through the netting he saw a dozen black, undulating shapes fly over the Chathrand, scattershot.’

‘The surface of the bay was undulating, as though some great submerged mass were rushing towards the shore, lifting a bow wave before it.’

For an author writing a nautical fantasy adventure, resisting typing “undulating” until page 531 of the fourth book must have taken a herculean effort.

There are often such superb moments in this series that I want to cry out to anyone who will listen. Usually I do not because I lack the words to do it justice. Just please read it, if your heart is open enough for the journey.
