It’s dense going but it is good. Jessex being Yron is a predictable twist and his and Kirith Kirins relationship is odd like gay but also a bit on the grooming side? Idk how I feel

The page is irrelevant as I am probably not going to be finishing this book. The inappropriateness of having a 15 engaging in a relationship with an indeterminably older man does not sit well with me. Supremely disappointing.

It’s getting somewhere. The narrating style is becoming a little jarring with how much the story is progressing so quickly. I’m glad we’ve moved away from so much time at Ilyn and Jessex dealing with an inappropriate admirer. Is it problematic, I’m holding judgement until the end.

I must say this book is dense. The magic system is interesting as is the lore. Character relationships are growing but the place is slow which is a shame. I’m just curious where this is going to end!

I’m fascinated. The three witch sisters are very interesting and introduce us to Drudaen who is obviously very bad. Magic is waiting for Jessex and I’m just curious. The world is interesting, the writing flowery without overdoing it. Kirith and Jessex interactions are fun I just want Jessex to be aged up like 6 years 😭

Intriguing start, it’s very whimsical and Jessex is a sweet narrator. There is mystery and obviously political tension with magical edges all around. I just hope tomorrow I can focus a bit better on reading it!
