Reading the reviews the author did resolve it, but obviously not in this book. Although written as a trilogy there are actually four books. I slipped up and read Time's Convert thinking it was the third book. Having done so I may just enjoy Book of Life more. Being rather cynical, I always thought the third book would be predictable and run out of steam because she put so much in the first two. I shall see.
