Just finished DREAD BRASS SHADOWS. In this one, Garrett has even less of a clue than he normally does, and is deprived of several key resources (Morley, Dotes, Chodo). The Dead Man is also hoodwinked a couple of times. On the downside, I knew that the book was hidden in Garrett's house for ages. On the upside, we have a new (permanent?) character! Winger looks like she will provide plenty of entertainment.

Cook is doing a great job with Winger. At this point in the story, I have no idea whether I like her or hate her.

Started DREAD BRASS SHADOWS, and it jumps straight into the plot on page 3.

Just finished OLD TIN SORROWS. Very, very grave. Very grim. Great book, but the darkest of this series so far. (5/5)

Ha! I knew the mystery blonde was Jennifer's dead mother. Didn't quite guess the circumstances of her death though. Also, looks like Garrett just can't go through a whole book without running into a hottie (or two or three) who wants to jump into bed with him. *le sigh*

Oooh, nifty new monster -- a "draug". Also, what Garrett lacks in finesse, he really does make up for in sheer pig-headed stubbornness. He just keeps at it until something shakes loose.

So far, this book is reading like a game of Clue. Really enjoying how the plot is thickening around our hero. I get the feeling that the remaining heirs will start dropping like flies.
