At first I thought this was an elaborate Greek version of If We Were Villains, and in most ways it is. But it's so convoluted- description upon description, blatant homophobia, witness to a very weird student-professor relationship. If a friend hadn't loaned it to me, I'd never had read it, but now that I am reading it I'm too repulsed to put it down.

But what's with the long chapters?

Is this just If We Were Villains with bigger words
