Joanna When you know you’d have to hire 3 brawny men to move all your books cause it’s take 5 smaller people to do it in double the time.

Alexandra Elend Wolf Infinite. That is the only valid answer *nods seriously*

But options look exceedingly beautiful but I cannot help to think that they wouldn't be all that comfortable... which, sure, would help solve the storage problem but generate some more.

I see your point.

I wonder if a thick down filled mattress for the book bed would work? (larger than the mattress shown above) Maybe it would be uncomfortable because it would be so thick ?

Too funny !
We are talking about book beds as if we would actually make one!

We wouldn't.

Would we ?

I mean, since I've definitely fantasized about a house covered in books I don't think that thinking about furniture made of books is too out of the scope of possibility *lol*

They do say that you can accomplish whatever you want if you believe in yourself, right?

Audrey When you own every book in the world, you have enough.

Indeed you can Alexandra ! If you believe in yourself there is absolutely nothing you can not do. You may fail a couple of times, but you will accomplish whatever it is you want to do !
I think I am going to give bookniture a shot ;) hehehehe
The hardest part will be finding books to use to make the pieces from !

I believe I am on my way to doing just that Audrey !
How many books do you think you have? So far ;)

Audrey My daughter counted 500. I need to go through them and make sure they made it to my Owned shelf. That doesn't include ebooks, of course.

500 ?!? Nice !
How long have you been collecting books Audrey and what is your favorite genre ?

I had around 150, had being the key word lol. One of the librarians at my local library told me about their "Free Shelf." They put out books that are slightly damaged, proof books, or were not checked out often enough to keep. When my librarian (Sarah) took me to shelves I literally gasped. I looked at Sarah and stuttered "And, and, they are.....FREE? You can just take them home and keep them?" She smiled and said "Yes, and I will come back and let you know when we are about to close." Lol
I think I have around 1,400 now. No joke. Sarah asked that I not bring them back when I finished reading them so I built a free library box by my sidewalk and put a lot of books in there.
The really cool thing is some books were donated (it seems they aren't allowed to keep donated books !) and I have found signed copies ! Any idea why a library is not allowed to keep donated books Audrey? I was a bit shocked to find that out !

Audrey When I finished high school I decided to be very efficient and got rid of most of my kid books. The last 10 years I began to seriously collect them. I am running out of space.

Our library has book sales, often for 10 cents a book. Donated books go there. I guess it's too much hassle to process donated books? But they will accept authors donating their books. I also check the thrift store when I go there. I have found a few signed books there. They cost about a dollar there. Hardbacks are usually $2.

Fantasy is my favorite genre; that's what dominates the shelves. I also have a lot of sci fi, classics, and nonfiction. (My husband got a history degree.)

Have you seen those book nook designs? They are amazing but do take up shelf space.

Bookniture is a term that needs to be coined XD

Oh, yeah, that is something I hadn't given a thought to but that is very worrying, which books to use for such an endeavor. Now THAT is a conundrum.
