I don't get why a guy who's just been a car accident 2 days ago (broken nose, cracked ribs) is running round going shopping, looking at farms, identifying dead bodies (not a spoiler).

I'm enjoying this book but this keeps bugging me. I've never had that serious of a crash before, but i'm pretty sure id be sat on the couch reading and eating crap.
