There is a special kind of reassurance that can only be found in rereading the books that you loved as a child. I'm not exactly sure why I need that reassurance right now. Why am I neglecting The Iliad (again) in favour of a hardback omnibus (with ribbon bookmark) that is already falling apart from the many readings it has endured in my grubby young hands? I can't tell yet. Perhaps I will find out?
