(1) I have mixed feelings. On one hand, the vast majority of this felt like a letdown, not matching the tone or character chemistry of the previous books. On the other hand, the final few pages are spectacular, and pay off a long-term plot thread.
- I find having the setting shift to a big city loses a lot of the creepiness and claustrophobia the series is known for.
