I feel like the men exist in this to simply have contrary thoughts to the protagonist.
Like, if she jumps into a fight in one scene they're mad at her about being reckless. But in the next book, if she finds a way out of a fight, they're mad at her for NOT fighting?

The most unrealistic thing about this is her asking Poseidon if he'd be mad if she turns him down and him saying no
