Argh, Goodreads: Whenever I decline friend requests, GR just accepts them anyway and I have to unfriend these people. What the hell is going on???

The help page says that GR is aware of the problem, but it's not like they fix the bug...
I have eight pending friends requests. I used to ignore them until they expire, but they don't expire any more. The flag just sits there.

This just happened to me too! So weird, random people’s updates appearing on my feed…

The other day, it added to my friends list someone I had blocked. Awful. I got in touch with support immediately. They took care of it and told me it's a known problem. This may be their worst glitch yet.

Thanks for telling us that the support said it's a known problem - I hope they'll take care of the glitch, it's so annoying and it spreads negativity as people might feel treated badly.
