Here, as on the arch, were references to Cosimo's birthsign, Capricorn, stressed because it was to remind onlookers of the birthsign of Cosimo's favourite spiritual ancestor, the Emperor Augustus.

Another one of your fanciful musings sir, however it is false. Cosimo I was a Gemini and Caesar Augustus, a Virgo.
