Later that year, just before the start of the second game of the World Series, Jackie was honored by baseball. During the off season Jackie was invited to a lot of speaking tours, which included food so he ate a lot. He was in bad shape for next season and didn't get to play. The dodgers got off to a bad start of their season, they were supposed to win the pennant but didn't that year. Next season Jackie got to say and do as he pleased, the dodgers also won all their pennants after that just not the World Series, until 1955.

Jackie's rookie season was great, he had great bat path and also handled the abuse and taunts from other teams and people in the crowds very good. A player off the St. Louis Cardinals seemed to spike jackie on an easy ground ball, his team seem to stand up for him and protest.

Ricky was searching to find someone who was black and good enough to play in the major leagues and who could handle themselves from any racial slurs. So he had reports come back to him about a man named Jackie Robinson. He sent his scouts out to find and talk to him. Ricky finally met him and they had a conversation about what they needed him to do so that he could play with the league. Jackie took the offer.

When Jackie Robinson reached the major leagues he was known for speed and stealing bases but he got all he learned from watching Cool Papa Bell. Jackie only had two heros himself and Branch Ricky. Ricky was the first to devised the farm system of training ballplayers and hired the first Black players in organized baseball in the 20th century. No one thought it was a great idea because blacks and white didn't mix.

When Jackie was at Fort Hood he was assigned to 761'st Tank Battalion, but he didn't know anything about tanks so they taught him and he was trained brilliantly. HIs girlfriend Rachel thought that her brother died in the war but later on they found him alive. Later on an incident happened where Jackie wouldn't get up from his seat because he was sitting in the whites section, so he left the base.
