First thing I do of course is check the index to see what people I'll be reading about. Out of 100 "influential" Muslims listed, only 4 are women. Why? He acknowledges he received this criticism in the intro, but doesn't address it. He just defends that he selected them "logically" and "objectively." It's fine to have bias--we all do--but it's not fine to not acknowledge it.

Some grammar/word choice/sentence structure is making me CRINGE. Wording is inconsice and repetitive - if I hear the words "annals of history" or "annals of Islam" or "indomitable" or "ripe old age" or "by all accounts" again I might scream
