Chapter 21 on surrender is where the book increased its connection with me as the reader. Until now, it was part biography, part auto-biography, and mainly sharing touchstones in her relationship with her father.
Now, the book becomes about Kate Fagan and her changing viewpoint of what failure and success perhaps really are.

The book starts with an emotional punch thanks to a prologue written by the authors mother, reminiscing about her husband. It's particularly heart wrenching as she goes through her time with him in his last moments. At first, I was puzzled about starting with this, but it really set my mind up to enjoy Kate's opening chapters about her formative years and her dad's role in it.
