Amelia has some grit. Most of the girls I write are smart asses--kind of sassy and flirtatious. Amelia being an amputee and home from Afghanistan is totally different than the other women I write. And I think she certainly challenges Emmett in all the best ways. I can't wait for you to meet them.

Writing about two amputees has been an interesting challenge... I want to show their struggles while also being cognizant of ableism. I also really love Emmett-- when I wrote Beard on Tap I knew I wanted him to have a Happily Ever After and I want so badly to do right by him!
