I'm still not a fan of First Person, but Nevins is an absolutely gifted writer!
Having said that, I'm questioning the pacing. The MC seems unjustifiably thick where she's noticing changes to her and its abilities. It's hard to make the argument of mainstream understanding when NOTHING in the mainstream is happening to the character.
The world she knew - GONE!
