All I can think abt is poor Brian. This 8yr old kid with awful parents. Everytime they say something not super nice to him it immediately follows with “Ruby snapped at her son, although she was really, secretly, talking to herself”. Like can these parents stop projecting!!!

They’re lucky that Brian is a good kid with a good head on his shoulders. Things could turn sour quick with the parents he has.

It’s very first or second draft-like to me. Also she tries to explain the reasons characters do what they do or live where they live and it barely makes sense. Like they don’t have to have a reason, lady!!
