I liked her Prayer in the Night better. I love idea of this one, and it has some good observations, but at times it has that familiar shot across the bow that evangelicals have messed up contemporary church life (which has some merits, obviously). I thought her idea about developing a willingness to let church be familiar and even boring as something we might need was interesting. Instead of getting high on our unique, personal faith experience shifting more emphasis to shared faith in community. I thought it was good overall, but not focused as much as the title suggests. More of recognizing a need than offering solutions.

I’m sure many of my sermons are boring enough already. :)
