It's still slowing going here.
I find myself not wholly caught up in the story, despite some twists and revelations.
I fear that the issue is I've taken far too long reading this fairly light summer holiday read.

The story is continuing with interesting turns but it’s still a plot that is 90% people sitting down to eat and telling stories.

As captivating as that can be, it’s making it hard to return to.

While it’s interesting and manages to capture the feel of visiting the Mediterranean. This book seems to consist almost entirely of people sitting down to eat while someone tells stories about the past.

an enticing prologue but after that gets constipated in its attempts to swiftly set up a story that perhaps needs time to breathe.
