I watched the movie last week and couldn’t stop thinking about Dune. It’s so powerfully and mysteriously seductive.

message 1: by Ronald (new)

Ronald Diehl I’ve been surprised that Hollywood has been so eager to adapt this universe, because from what I understand the later books get really, really weird.

Alexander The first movie was pretty true to the book, but they might diverge away in the sequel. Let us hope the sequel lives up to expectations.

Alexander There are so many amazing fictional novels that I wish Hollywood would make movie adaptations of.

message 4: by Ronald (new)

Ronald Diehl I think that part two will still be the first book.

And if they do adapt sequels, I doubt they will get to the one in which Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya’s child becomes a sandworm-god.

Also, extrapolating from current trends, I forecast that by 2025 all literary fictional universes will have been brought to either the silver screen or a streaming platform.

Alexander I hope you're right. Movies add a whole new dimension to books.
