You know, thinking about it, this story does have a bit more of an insta-love feeling, which is disappointing considering the fact one of the characters is demi-sexual.

The way the queen is acting is rather... I don't know how to phrase it. But she isn't written well.

Okay, checked the NineStar Press age for it - he is meant to be demi-sexual. Awesome. Super pleased that there is representation.

Though, continuing that thought of internalized acephobia, him also being relieved that he could "want someone" and be "as giddy and infatuated as anyone else" would also be considered internalized acephobia to me.
Not being interested in others is perfectly normal and okay.

I wonder if there was some unintentional asexual representation in this. The talk of Edmund's sexuality and how he hopes he can manage to fall in love before the wedding night comes off a bit like demi-sexuality to me. And how he had feared he was broken because he experienced sexuality differently reminds me a bit of internalized acephobia.
