Wow they repeat the basic facts of the plot a lot. Especially given that all the characters must have been there for the earlier events.

This seems like an overreaction to me. I wonder if Lucas' mom is just over protective or does she Know Something?
Or maybe it just seems weird to me because I grew up before cell phones and now all parent freak out of their adult children are out late and don't answer the phone.

Again with the repetition! Why are you reminding the reader on page 59 of something that happened 30 very short pages ago?
