Getting into the nitty gritty of the formation of Northumbria now, not a lot of details on the where froms, more about the what was here and how it became.

First two chapters down. This is the most technical reading I have done in quite some time. A little dry but I am finding myself interested.... It is after all a "textbook".

Interesting that the book seems to focus on what it is to be a nation... I wonder if he theme will continue...
