Finished the first story in this omnibus—Falling Free, the novel from 1988. Such an odd (for the Vorkosiverse) yet quite enjoyable story. The three tales in this omnibus are loosely connected by the common element of quaddies and I’ve already read the next story, the novella “Labyrinth,” from 1989. I’ll wait to read the final story until I get to that story later in the publication-order timeline...

“She felt like a stray molecule caught in the interstices of a doped crystal wafer, out of place but trapped.” Brilliant!
